For founder Jason Shinholster, White Ox is also about creating opportunities for people who are rebuilding their lives. Years ago, Jason came to Destin with little more than a backpack and a car, looking for a fresh start. With the support of friends who offered him a safe place to live and an opportunity to work, he was able to build a new future for himself. That experience shaped the way Jason leads White Ox today. Alongside his wife, Jenna, he has made it a priority to offer employment, guidance, and second chances to men recovering from addiction or returning to the community after incarceration. At White Ox Construction, we take pride in building exceptional spaces while also investing in the people and communities around us. Jason has never forgotten the people who helped him when he needed a new beginning. Because of that, he made a commitment that, when given the opportunity, he would help others find the same stability and support. Through White Ox Construction, Jason has intentionally hired men who may otherwise struggle to find steady employment because of their past. The goal is not simply to provide a job, but to help each person develop a strong work history, build confidence, and create a more stable path forward. Jason is also working toward launching a nonprofit focused on transitional housing for men who have recently left prison. While employment is an important part of rebuilding a life, many men still lack a safe and dependable place to live. The vision is to create a supportive environment where they can work, receive mentorship, establish stability, and transition back into society successfully. This mission remains an important part of the heart behind White Ox Construction: building with excellence, leading with purpose, and helping others create something stronger for the future.
